On behalf of our Auckland-based client, an established digital media company, The Pond Recruitment is now looking for a Head of Digital Advertising & Content to lead a high-performing established team of four.

This role requires expert knowledge and experience across 3 core pillars:

  • Digital and Performance-led Advertising & Marketing
  • Content Producing / Production Management
  • Leadership / Management 

This role will head up a critical division and team in this tech-led digital media company. Think of this role as leading the internal digital agency offering for the hundreds of existing valued clients, as well as the new clients being onboarded monthly. The primary function of this role and team is to deliver exceptional results for these clients, content-rich digital advertising for campaigns across a range of paid and owned digital channels.

You will lead a dynamic team of four within an organisation of 80 and growing. Your team of four are all specialists in their field, digital content writer, social, digital marketing, production, etc. Your role is crucial to bridging the gap between advertising strategies and client outcomes (leads, enquiries, and revenue). You will work closely with Account Directors to provide ongoing insights into campaign performance, insights, and potential upsell opportunities “How else can we add value to our clients, what else can we offer them from our clever digital advertising toolbox”. This collaboration will ensure clients get the most out of the offering, continuing to allocate their marketing budget with you, your team, and the business.

You’ll be ambitious and hands-on by nature, a positive, and collaborative leader with the ability to do what’s required to deliver against a high volume of work. An upbeat personality is key, and you’ll be confident to reach out, and proactively collaborate with client service, creatives, marketers, and producers to deliver quality work that delivers measurable results.

The Breakdown

We are looking for someone: 

  • With Digital Advertising or Digital Marketing Agency experience
  • Who fully understands Digital and Performance-led Marketing
  • With exposure to Content & Campaign Producing
  • With strong Leadership / Management experience

Some key responsibilities are:

  • Develop and deliver clever advertising strategies for clients of all shapes and sizes
  • Lead the creation and execution of multi-channel digital campaigns
  • Analyse campaign performance, interpret data, derive insights, and recommend best-in-class approach
  • Plan and delegate daily, weekly, and monthly tasks, drive and empower your team to take ownership of their work and the part they play
  • Work closely with the sales and client-service teams to provide ongoing insights into campaign performance, results, and learnings to be able to add more value to clients and their business
  • Ability to work across larger campaigns, pitching, presenting, or advising high-value clients on the best approach with data-backed rationale.
  • Consistently look for ways to improve and evolve the offering, what is happening in the digital landscape, competitors, new trends and channels, etc
