Meet John.

John is a highly versatile animation professional with over twenty five years of experience working internationally in the advertising, television and film industries. He has worked as a commercials director and character designer for top UK and US animation production houses including Passion Pictures and Curious Pictures.

He has directed award-winning work for global television and media companies, and advertising agencies across brands including Unilever, Audi, Mini, Toyota, Volkswagen, Tescos, Diageo, COI, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, MTV and NOW TV... among others.

He has also worked in character development and feature animation supervisor roles and he is equally comfortable working with clients or leading large teams of concept artists, animators and compositors.

Since returning to New Zealand, he has supervised the animation for Ari Folman's acclaimed Cannes selected 2021 feature 'Where is Anne Frank', character design for Netflix Season 3 of "F Is For Family' and Season 1 of Disney+ / Fox adult animated show 'Koala Man' as well as producing TVCs for the South Pacific region.

John works with varying combinations and styles of 2D animation and he is also comfortable directing live action.
